Hi! We’re Chris and Debby,
and we’re educators.

After having transformed traditional teaching in Taiwan by making learning engaging and fun, we saw firsthand how the right approach could spark understanding and joy. After navigating Chris’ diagnosis, we wanted to do the same with autism education. This is how Auticate was born. We're about more than providing information; we're about transforming how people see autism and how autistic adults see themselves. We believe the world is better with autistic people in it, and we want every autistic person to feel this way about themselves.

Here’s what we’re trying to do:

Our Vision

We envision a world where neurodiversity is not only accepted but celebrated as a vital aspect of human diversity. Our work will transform societal perceptions, creating an inclusive environment where every individual on the autism spectrum is recognized for their unique strengths and potential. Central to our mission is the cultivation of healthy relationships between autistic persons and their allistic allies, ensuring mutual understanding and support. We will dismantle barriers, promote empowerment, and guarantee that autistic people fully participate in and contribute to all aspects of life. Through our comprehensive resources, support systems, and educational programs, we are committed to enriching the societal fabric, building a future where every neurodiverse individual can thrive, their talents embraced and their contributions valued by all sectors of society.

Our Mission

To empower autistic people to live fuller lives through content rooted in lived experience and a supportive community.

Our Purpose

We exist to affirm and elevate the inherent value of every autistic person.

What does our name mean?

Our goal is clear with our name: to convey to our brand community who we are and what that means for them.

Technically speaking, Auticate is considered a suggestive composite name type: a one-of-a-kind name created by the merging of two words. By merging "autism" with "educate," our name perfectly captures the educational mission driving our work. The word flows well due to its cadence. The stress pattern (AUT-i-cate) is easy to pronounce and has a natural, rhythmic quality, making it pleasant to say and hear.

Though likable, distinct and easy to say, one of our name's key strengths is its ability to communicate our unique selling proposition—education tailored for autistic people. This makes it not only functional but also deeply meaningful.

Why the Elephant?

With its grand stature and gentle demeanor, the elephant symbolizes a wealth of qualities that resonate deeply with us. Known for their wisdom, patience, and remarkable memory, elephants embody the strength and endurance required to navigate life's challenges. These majestic creatures also represent deep familial bonds and loyalty, mirroring the steady and supportive community we’re building.

For us, the elephant is more than just a symbol; it reflects the profound journey of understanding and growth that we’ve been on. Our journey through Chris’ late diagnosis of autism has formative.

This icon serves as a beacon of hope and resilience, reminding us that with patience and empathy, progress is not only possible but inevitable.
